Our Environmental Commitment: Creating a Future Worth Living
We are on a mission to reduce our ecological footprint, with a distinct emphasis on climate protection and the embrace of a circular economy. At iC Consult, our commitment pertains to a variety of areas, including our energy consumption, resource management, mobility, and the utilization of hardware and paper. All our offices run on 100% renewable electricity, and by 2045 we want to reach Net Zero.

Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Every year, we measure our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions according to the GHG Protocol and publish the results in our Sustainability Report. We look at Scope 1, 2 and 3 and analyze where our biggest emission drivers lie. As a consulting company, more than 95% of our emissions are Scope 3, mainly from purchased goods and services, business travel and commuting. We keep improving the scope and quality of our data.

Total emissions went down by about 26% from 2024 to 2025.
Energy Management
With more than 20 offices around the globe, energy management is a key topic for us. All our offices worldwide run on 100% renewable electricity. Where local suppliers cannot offer it, as in Bulgaria, China and India, we buy Energy Attribute Certificates. Our next step is heating, which is not yet fully renewable.

Resource Management
We have also developed an end-of-life concept for our hardware. We regularly donate used laptops to our partner Hey, Alter!, a German non-profit organization. These used devices are carefully refurbished and passed on to underprivileged children and young people. Through these donations, we not only give our hardware a second life – we also help students stay connected in the digital age. Across the EU, our hardware end-of-life program prioritizes reuse, resale, donation and certified recycling. By 2030, we want to keep 100% of our e-waste out of landfill.
Towards Sustainable Mobility
Many of our employees enjoy location-independent working, e.g., from their home offices, which offers not only increased freedom and flexibility but also results in reduced CO2 emissions. Nonetheless, in-person interactions with our clients remain vital to foster trust and collaborative partnerships.
To minimize emissions from business travel, we encourage our employees to travel by rail for business trips and subsidize public transport tickets. A business travel policy and remote collaboration as our default help us to travel less.
In 2019, our commitment to eco-friendly mobility and employee well-being led us to introduce company bike leasing. At the same time, we support our employees’ switch to electromobility, subsidizing private wallbox installations and providing free charging stations at select offices.

Our goal is to develop technologies, like our Identity & Access Management solutions, that support our clients’ long-term success. More broadly speaking, digitalization, through tools such as scalable cloud-based solutions and applications, can improve resource efficiency. This is not only good for us, but also provides value to our clients.

Our innovative and highly automated Service Layers platform combines sustainability and efficiency. The ability to dynamically scale server capacity in real-time helps our customers to conserve valuable resources and creates considerable cost savings. Additionally, the ability to automate processes like development tests further optimizes resource consumption.
