Creating a Future Worth Living:
Our Environmental Commitment

We are on a mission to reduce our ecological footprint, with a distinct emphasis on climate protection and the embrace of a circular economy. At iC Consult, our commitment pertains to a variety of areas, including our energy consumption, resource management, mobility, and the utilization of hardware and paper.

We conducted a full GHG emissions analysis for 2023. The analysis helped us to understand our GHG emissions hotspots and enables us to develop measures to reduce our carbon footprint. We used our own data where possible, while referring to statistical averages where no data was available.

We want to increase the amount of own data moving forward, in an effort to receive an ever more accurate GHG footprint.

Energy Management

With more than 20 offices around the globe, energy management is a key topic for us. The electricity in our offices comes from 100% renewable energy sources where possible. Unfortunately, we are currently unable to source renewable electricity at our offices in Bulgaria, China and India, due to constraints in the local market. We are working on solutions to help us progress our decarbonization efforts in these locations as well.

Resource Management

We’ve devised a comprehensive end-of-life plan for of our primary resource: hardware. In 2023 we donated 30 old laptops to our partner Hey, Alter!, an NGO from Germany. These old devices are meticulously refurbished and donated to underprivileged children and young people. This initiative not only gives the hardware a renewed purpose but also empowers these students in our increasingly digital world.

Furthermore, we utilize reusable transport boxes to avoid packaging waste during shipping. As a digital-first company, we aim is to be as paperless as possible, and if we do print, it’s on recycled paper. Our adoption of DocuSign for electronic signatures further reduces our paper consumption.

Towards Sustainable Mobility

Many of our employees enjoy location-independent working, e.g. from their home offices, which offers not only increased freedom and flexibility but also results in reduced CO₂ emissions. Nonetheless, in-person interactions with our clients remains vital to foster trust and collaborative partnerships.

To minimize emissions from business travel, we encourage our employees to travel by rail for business trips, and subsidize public transport tickets.

In 2019, our commitment to eco-friendly mobility and employee well-being led us to introduce company bike leasing. At the same time, we support our employees’ switch to electromobility, subsidizing private wallbox installations and providing free charging stations at select offices.
